Alonso Expected to be Ready for Training Camp

Kiko Alonso had an outstanding rookie season in 2013. The linebacker missed the 2014 season with a torn ACL, but he told John Murphy that he should be 100 percent by training camp.

The Buffalo Bills may not have a first round pick in 2015, but they're getting a major contributor back this season.

Kiko Alonso, the PFWA's Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2013, missed the 2014 season after tearing his ACL while working out at Oregon in July. On Wednesday night, Alonso joined The John Murphy Show to update fans on his status. The linebacker told Murphy that he anticipates being 100 percent by training camp. The interview interview can be listened to here: The John Murphy Show - February 25.

In his rookie season, Alonso was responsible for 159 combined tackles, two sacks, four passes defensed and four interceptions. Alonso's exceptional rookie season came with Mike Pettine as the team's defensive coordinator. This season, Alonso will play in Rex Ryan's defense which is essentially the same as what Pettine ran in 2013.
