Bills Claim Matt Simms, Release Jeff Tuel

Matt Simms was claimed off of waivers on Friday by the Buffalo Bills. In Buffalo, Simms will be reunited with Rex Ryan.

Tuel Time has officially been cancelled by the Buffalo Bills.

The team waived fourth string QB Jeff Tuel and claimed QB Matt Simms off of waivers from the New York Jets on Friday. Simms requested that the Jets release him and it was granted yesterday. In Buffalo, Simms reunites with his former head coach Rex Ryan.

In his career, Simms had played in four games, completing 19-of-39 passes (48.7 percent) for 195 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Simms’ only career NFL touchdown came in a 37-14 loss to the Bills in 2013.

In Buffalo, Simms joins a quarterback competition that includes Matt Cassel, E.J. Manuel and Tyrod Taylor. Simms is a longshot to make the roster, but Ryan has been one of his biggest supporters in the league.
