Bills to Move Up the Team's All-Time Ranks

Mario Williams, Fred Jackson, Dan Carpenter and Leodis McKelvin are all likely to move up in some of Buffalo's all-time career categories in 2015.

No all-time Buffalo Bills records are at risk of being broken in 2015, but a few players could move into the Top 5 in a few categories. Below is a look at the numbers needed for some current Bills to move up in the all-time ranks in the team’s history.

1 Sack

One sack in 2015 will move Mario Williams into 5th place all-time on Buffalo’s sack list. In 3 seasons, Williams has recorded 38 sacks with the Bills. Currently, Bills great Darryl Talley (1983-1994) sits in fifth place with 38.5 sacks. Barring an injury, Williams will certainly pass Talley this season. Moving into fourth place is also a possibility for Super Mario. If Williams is able to record 15 sacks in 2015, he’ll move past Cornelius Bennett (1987-1995) for fourth all-time. Bennett finished his Bills career with 52.5 sacks.

2 Rushing Touchdowns

If Fred Jackson carries the ball into the end zone two times in 2015, he’ll move into third place all-time in Bills rushing touchdowns. Cookie Gilchrist (1962-1964) is currently occupying third place with 31 rushing touchdowns in his three seasons with the Bills.

8 Field Goals Made

Number of field goals that Dan Carpenter needs to make to move into 4th place all-time in Bills history for field goals made. John Leypoldt (1971-1976) currently holds 4th place with 74 field goals made. This isn’t the only place where Dan Carpenter can move up in 2015.

If Carpenter scores 35 points in 2015, he’ll pass Eric Moulds for 8th all-time in points scored. Carpenter currently sits at 264 points.

46 Punt Return Yards

This is the number of yards Leodis McKelvin needs move into 2nd place all-time in Bills history in punt return yardage. Jeff Burris (1994-1997) currently holds second place with 1,045 punt return yards. Roscoe Parrish sits at No. 1 with 1,622 punt return yards. If McKelvin stays with the Bills for a few more seasons, this is a record that could be broken.
