The Buffalo Bills made NFL Top 100 history on Wednesday night after Mario Williams was named as the 42nd best player in the NFL. Buffalo’s entire defensive line made this year’s Top 100 list after Williams’ addition, the first time any team’s starting four defensive linemen have made the list in the same year.

In 2014, Williams set a career-high in sacks with 14.5 and finished the year with 42 combined tackles. Pro Football Focus named Williams as the NFL’s ninth-best 4-3 defensive end in 2014. Williams was credited with 37 quarterback hurries and 36 stops (tackles that constitute an offensive failure) by the analytics site. Since joining the Bills, Williams has 38 sacks in 48 games.

Williams’ strong play in 2014 did not go unnoticed. In November, the defensive end was named the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Month after picking up 6.5 sacks during the month. He also made his second consecutive Pro Bowl with the Bills, his fourth overall. Last, Williams was named a First-Team All-Pro.

Super Mario is playing some of the best football of his career, so it’s no surprise that his peers named him to the list.
