Buffalo Bills sign CB Ellis Lankster

Ellis Lankster was signed by the Buffalo Bills on Monday. The cornerback spent his rookie season with the Bills and the last four seasons with Rex Ryan on the Jets.

The Buffalo Bills have signed cornerback Ellis Lankster.

Buffalo drafted Lankster in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL draft and the cornerback played in 10 games as a rookie. Lankster did not play in the NFL in 2010, but from 2011 to 2014, he was coached by Rex Ryan as a member of the New York Jets. Per NFL.com, Lankster was active for 39 games (one start) with the Jets and he recorded 67 total tackles, one sack, six passes defensed and one interception.

The Bills are looking for quality cornerback depth with Leodis McKelvin and Ross Cockrell out with injuries. To sign Lankster, Buffalo released cornerback Lavelle Westbrooks
