Watkins and Woods unlikely to play Saturday

The Buffalo Bills will once again be without some of their top offensive weapons on Saturday.

E.J. Manuel will start at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills on Saturday but he’ll be missing two of his biggest weapons. Rex Ryan announced after practice on Thursday that he doesn’t believe that Sammy Watkins or Robert Woods will play against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both receivers were also out last week when Buffalo took on the Cleveland Browns.

In addition to Watkins and Woods, the Bills receivers will also be without Percy Harvin and Chris Hogan. Deonte Thompson, Buffalo’s most productive wide receiver of the preseason, left Thursday’s practice with an injury. Ryan was unsure of his status for Saturday’s game as well. That leaves the Bills with Marquise Goodwin, Andre Davis, Marcus Easley, Dezmin Lewis, Tobais Palmer, Marcus Thigpen and Austin Willis as receiver options for Saturday.

The Bills entered last week’s game without their top five running backs and top three receivers, so missing key offensive players on Saturday should not phase Buffalo against the Steelers.
