Boobie Dixon: 'I’m at about 70 percent'

Anthony 'Boobie' Dixon practiced in a limited capacity for the Bills on Thursday for the first time since suffering a calf injury.

Anthony Dixon, otherwise known as Boobie Dixon, suffered a serious calf injury in the beginning of training camp. The running back was expected to miss one month of action and be back in time for the regular season for the Buffalo Bills.

Yesterday, Dixon was back on the field in a limited capacity. It was an encouraging sign, but Buffalo’s running back said he’s still not close to 100 percent:

“I still have got some ways to go,” said Dixon. “I was fighting hard to get back early. I’ve been working non-stop every day since I got hurt, almost three weeks in a row every day. Even on the off days doubling up on the conditioning work. It’s been tough, but I’ve been fighting through it. It’s almost there. I’d say I’m at about 70 percent right now. It was just fun to get back out there man and run around with my teammates and be wild and crazy and have fun. That was great.”

Dixon is coming off of a 2014 season where he ran the ball 105 times for 432 yards (4.1 YPC) and two touchdowns. He also added eight receptions for 49 yards last season. Dixon set career highs in rushing attempts, yards, YPC average, receptions and receiving yards in 2014.
