Bills claim Freeman and Reddick, Waive Two

The Buffalo Bills claimed two players off of waivers on Tuesday.

The Buffalo Bills have claimed two players off of waivers: C Dalton Freeman and ILB Kevin Reddick. Freeman was previously with the New York Jets and Reddick was with the Carolina Panthers.

Freeman was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He was released from the 53-man roster but spent the 2013 season on New York’s practice squad. Last season, Freeman played the majority of snaps in Week 16 against the Patriots last season after Jets center Nick Mangold went down with an injury. He proceeded to start in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins. Freeman played 111 snaps last year with the Jets.

Freeman won’t have much time to impress the coaching staff, but Rex Ryan is familiar with the center.

Reddick was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints in 2013. According to NFL.com, Reddick was active for all 16 games and recorded 12 total tackles and a forced fumble as a rookie. Last year, Reddick played with the San Diego Chargers and Panthers. He recorded one tackle last season.

Buffalo is currently looking for MIKE linebacker depth behind Preston Brown. Rookie Tony Steward is currently out with an MCL injury and A.J. Tarpley’s play has been inconsistent for the Bills.

To make room for Freeman and Reddick, the Bills waived LB Jimmy Gaines and waived/injured OT Tyson Chandler
