Buffalo Bills Roster by NFL Draft Round

Buffalo technically has two open roster spots and could make a few moves on Sunday, but here's a look the Bills roster based upon where each player was taken in the NFL draft.

The Buffalo Bills made their roster cuts on Saturday and technically their roster sits at 51 players. Marcell Dareus will not count against Buffalo’s roster due to his one game suspension and cornerback Leodis McKelvin will miss the first six weeks of the season after being placed on the Reserve/NFI list. That said, they’ve been added to the table below as both will play a big role on the roster this year.

Although there will still be a few more roster moves made in the next few days, here is a look at Buffalo’s roster based upon the round in which each player was drafted. Players in bold were originally drafted by the Bills or originally signed by the team as UDFAs.

-Among the 53 players, 30 were drafted or signed as UDFAs by Buffalo (56.6%)

-There’s pretty good balance on the roster in terms of where players came from. Undrafted free agents leading the way is no surprise but having 10 first round picks on the roster is a high amount. Between rounds two through seven, the Bills have four to six players represented in each round.

-The Bills have done a good job of drafting players in Round 2-4. Thirteen of 16 players currently on the roster were drafted by Buffalo. Among the 13, seven will begin the season with a starting job.
