QB Alex Tanney joining the Buffalo Bills

Alex Tanney will be joining the Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo Bills have three practice squad spots open as well as one spot on their active roster. Quarterback Alex Tanney will be filling one of those spots. Yesterday, the newest Buffalo Bills player, center Gabe Ikard, shared that he was on his way to Buffalo with Tanney.

It appears that Tanney's visit with the Bills went well. The quarterback tweeted out he's happy to be joining the team.

This will technically be Tanney's first stint with the Bills, but was a part of the team's rookie camp back in 2012. Since then, the quarterback has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs (training camp), Dallas Cowboys (practice squad), Cleveland Browns (53-man roster), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (training camp), and Tennessee Titans (practice squad and 2015 training camp).

Tanney's strong preseason in Tennessee has landed him a job in Buffalo. In four preseason games with the Titans, Tanney completed 18 of 25 passes (72%) for 221 yards and two touchdowns.

UPDATE: Tanney has officially been named to Buffalo's practice squad.
