Buffalo Bills linebacker Preston Brown was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

In Week 3, Brown recorded seven tackles, one tackle for loss, two passes defensed, two interceptions and a defensive touchdown against the Miami Dolphins. This was the first time that Brown has won the award.

The former Louisville Cardinals linebacker was a third round pick of the Bills in 2014. As a rookie, Brown recorded 109 combined tackles, two passes defensed and one interception in 16 games. The 109 tackles led the Bills last season.

According to Buffalo's official website, Brown was the first Bills linebacker to win the AFC Defensive Player of the Week since Takeo Spikes won the award in 2003. Brown was the 100th Bills player to win a player of the week award.
