Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans Halftime Thoughts

Tyrod Taylor and the Bills lead 21-13 at halftime.

The Buffalo Bills offense showed up to play on Sunday. At the half, the Bills lead the Houston Texans 21-13. Here's some thoughts on Buffalo's strong first half.

Tyrod Taylor is having himself a terrific half. He's been responsible for three touchdowns in the first half. Taylor completed 4-of-7 passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns and added another 25 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Taylor has been responsible for 16 passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns this season with only four interceptions (three of which came in Week 2). Buffalo has Taylor under contract next season and if he is strong play continues, the team would be wise to lock Taylor up long-term.

-LeSean McCoy has continued his strong play on Sunday. At the half, McCoy has rushed for 72 yards on 11 carries. He has a great chance to go over 100 total yards once again.

-Greg Roman called a terrific first half against one of the best defenses in the NFL. He's done wonders with Taylor and the offense.

-J.J. Watt has been a non-factor through the first half, just like we all expected. Okay, that was sarcastic, but the Bills are doing a good job of putting multiple players on Watt.

-Sammy Watkins had an excellent first half, much like last week. He has two receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown at the half. Hopefully Taylor keeps Watkins involved in the second half.

-Defensively, the Bills are letting Brian Hoyer dink and dunk all over them. As has been the case all season, some poor tackling has led to short passes going for first downs. The secondary has played well on Sunday, but the same cannot be said about the first seven.
