When the Buffalo Bills promoted Mike Gillislee to the 53-man roster, it wasn't met with much excitement. Gillislee didn't play in any games in 2014 and the running back only logged 21 yards on six carries back in 2013. Gillislee would simply take a roster spot until Karlos Williams was ready to return from a shoulder injury right? Wrong.
Since being promoted, Gillislee has made a big play every week. Against the Texans, Gillislee busted off a 30 yard run. Last week, the running back scored his first NFL touchdown against the Eagles. This week, Gillislee put together his best performance yet when he rushed for 81 yards on four carries. That included the 60 yard run that landed him on the NFL Network's Top 5 Runs.
LeSean McCoy is week-to-week with an MCL injury, so Gillislee could see an increased workload over the final two weeks of the season. Based upon his play, as well as the terrific play of Karlos Williams, the Bills should be able to run the ball with success even if McCoy misses time.
