The Buffalo Bills made quite a few roster moves on Tuesday. Among the moves, the Bills placed Robert Woods and Randell Johnson on the injured reserve. Woods suffered a groin injury on Sunday against the Redskins and Johnson suffered a high ankle sprain. In addition to placing Woods and Johnson on the IR, Buffalo also placed right tackle Seantrel Henderson on the reserve/non-football illness list.
A fourth roster spot was opened when the Bills released receiver and kickoff specialist Marcus Thigpen.
With four open roster spots, Buffalo promoted two wide receivers from their practice squad: Walter Powell and Dezmin Lewis. Powell will most likely handle return duties for Buffalo and Lewis should see significant snaps at receiver. A third player, defensive lineman Jerel Worthy, was also promoted to the 53-man roster by the Bills.
Buffalo also signed WR Greg Salas on Tuesday. Salas spent the preseason with the Detroit Lions where he caught 10 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown.
