Cordy Glenn won the Ed Block Courage Award for the Buffalo Bills

Cordy Glenn won the award for the Bills this season.

On Wednesday, Rex Ryan revealed that Cordy Glenn won the Ed Block Courage Award for the Buffalo Bills

What is the Ed Block Courage Award? The official Ed Block website says the following on the award:

Each year, the Ed Block Courage Awards honors those National Football League players who exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. This award is unique in that the recipients are selected solely by a vote of their teammates. Every fall all thirty two teams conduct a vote which results in each team selecting their Ed Block Courage Award recipient for the year.

Last season, Glenn missed time with a mystery ailment in the summer. Today the head coach mentioned that Glenn was dealing with a kidney issue.

Joe Buscaglia of WKBW-TV discussed the award with Glenn and the offensive tackle revealed that he had his kidney removed before the season.

Amazingly enough, Glenn started all 16 games last season and played a total of 1,046 snaps. While Glenn didn't play at a high level last season, it's understandable as to why he may have struggled. There's no doubt that Glenn is a deserving candidate for the Ed Block Courage Award.
