On Sunday, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported that Buffalo Bills GM Doug Whaley was at odds with the team's coaching staff and that he'd like to get rid of offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Here is an excerpt from La Canfora's article:
"He would also prefer the team move on from offensive coordinator Greg Roman and others, though it is highly unlikely owner Terry Pegula would support such measures."
On Thursday, Sal Capaccio of WGR-550 asked Whaley about the report. Whaley defended Roman and didn't sound like a man who wanted to get rid of his offensive coordinator.
Whaley makes a great point. Buffalo's offensive has significantly improved from 2014 under Roman. The team is 13th in points per game (24.4) and 13th in yards per game (362.3) while being first in rushing yards (148.8).
Whaley took it a step further, insinuating that La Canfora or one of his sources simply made up the report.
Based upon Whaley's comments it sounds as though the GM is rather happy with the performance of Roman in 2015.
