Buffalo Bills sign Jarrett Boykin to a futures contract per his agent

According to his agent, Jarrett Boykin was signed by the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday.

The Buffalo Bills signed wide receiver Jarrett Boykin to a futures contract according to Boykin's agent, Blake Baratz.

Boykin had worked out with the Bills last month. The wide receiver has familiarity with Bills starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor. The duo played together from 2008-2010 at Virginia Tech

This year, Boykin did not appear in any regular season games. He signed with the Carolina Panthers in the offseason but was cut by the team on September 1. Before signing with the Panthers, Boykin spent three seasons with the Green Bay Packers. In his three seasons in Green Bay, Boykin caught 57 passes for 731 yards and three touchdowns. Boykin's best season was in 2013 when he played in 16 games, starting eight, and caught 49 passes for 681 yards and three touchdowns.

Boykin will compete for a roster spot with the Bills in 2016. He stands in at 6'2" and 217 pounds, which oddly enough, is very similar to recent additions Leonard Hankerson (6'2", 211 lbs.) and Greg Salas (6'2", 210 lbs.).
