Ron Brooks doesn't sound like he's returning to the Bills in 2016

Ron Brooks sounds like a man who was told he wasn't in Buffalo's plans going forward.

Ron Brooks tweeted out a message to Buffalo Bills fans on Friday thanking fans for their support over the years. The end of Brooks' tweet, however, made it sound as though he wouldn't be returning to Buffalo in 2016.

Brooks, an unrestricted free agent come March, was drafted by the Bills in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft out of LSU. In his four year career, Brooks has appeared in 47 games with Buffalo. He's accounted for 74 total tackles and seven passes defensed during his tenure with the Bills. In addition to serving as a reserve cornerback with Buffalo, he also contributed on special teams.

Looking at Buffalo's roster going forward, there simply wasn't room for Brooks. The Bills currently have Stephon GilmoreRonald DarbyNickell RobeyMario Butler, and Leodis McKelvin under contract in 2016. Re-signing Brooks to compete for the sixth cornerback job simply wouldn't make sense for the Bills.
