Buffalo Bills cornerback Ronald Darby was named to the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) All-Rookie Team on Tuesday. Darby was named to the team at cornerback along with Kansas City Chiefs rookie Marcus Peters. Peters was also announced as the PFWA Defensive Rookie of the Year on Tuesday.
Darby has been recognized for his strong rookie season. Recently, the cornerback was named Defensive Rookie of the Year by Pro Football Focus.
Buffalo drafted Darby with the 50th overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft. This year, he appeared in 15 games and finished the season with 68 total tackles, two interceptions and 21 passes defensed. The 21 pass breakups were a Bills single-season team record. Darby allowed 660 receiving yards all season as a rookie.
Kiko Alonso, now with the Philadelphia Eagles, was the last Bills player to be named to PFWA's All-Rookie Team. Yesterday, the PFWA announced their All-NFL and All-AFC teams. No Bills appeared on either team.
