Report: Anthony Lynn is interviewing for the San Francisco 49ers OC job

Anthony Lynn has already interviewed with the 49ers this season for the head coaching job.

Buffalo Bills running backs coach Anthony Lynn apparently made a good first impression with the San Francisco 49ers.

Lynn interviewed with the team for their then-vacant head coaching job but was passed over for Chip Kelly. That said, a report from Alex Marvez says that Lynn is now interviewing with the 49ers for their offensive coordinator position.

Lynn coached a unit that finished first in the NFL in rushing in 2015 and he has received plenty of praise from head coach Rex Ryan.

Now, Lynn finds himself in a situation very similar to that of Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Last year, Roman interviewed with Buffalo for their then-vacant head coaching position. After missing out on the job to Ryan, Buffalo brought Roman in to be the team's offensive coordinator.

Ironically enough, the 49ers are now trying to fill a spot once occupied by Roman from 2011-2014. It wouldn't be a surprise if Lynn talked to Roman about the 49ers organization leading up to his first interview with the team.

Kelly is expected to be calling offensive plays as head coach of the 49ers but he's reportedly looking at coaches with running backgrounds
