Early into the day's first practice the Bills Pro Bowl WR Eric Moulds and QB Drew Bledsoe put on a show when the two hooked up on a long TD pass in seven-on-seven drills. CB Daylon McCutcheon attributed the play in part to his team playing cover-two, "which we didn't do too much of last year," said McCutcheon. "It's a little different scheme for us ... Moulds ran a double move and caught us off guard."
The play might have been called by Bills offensive co-ordinator Kevin Gilbride to silent the Browns defense who were hooting and hollering in the early part of the day.
Bills WR Andre Rone also put a good hit on Browns defensive back after catching a ball. The Bills defense did was pretty strong as well. Middle linebacker London Fletcher, intercepted Browns' QB Kelly Holcomb for a touchdown in the morning.
Though not everything was positive from the Bills' vantage point as undrafted rookie offensive tackle Gary Byrd was injured. At this point it's not known how long he will be out but Byrd should mis a significant amount of time after dislocating his knee cap. In other injury news the Bills kept out injured Mike Williams (hamstring) and Lauvale Sape (calf). Bills' strong safety Coy Wire was also held out of morning practices to give him a rest.
The Bills and Browns will hold a scrimmage tomorrow morning (11:00 am) at Browns Stadium. Tickets will cost $5.00 each.
