The 2016 NFL draft is 49 days away. Who have the Buffalo Bills drafted at pick 49?
Buffalo has drafted one player at pick 49. Here’s a look at the former Bills player.
Chris Williams, DB, LSU (1981)
Williams had a great career at LSU. The defensive back recorded 202 tackles during his four seasons with LSU and 20 interceptions. Williams’ 20 interceptions is still No. 1 all-time in the history of the program. To date, he is also tied for first all-time in single-season interceptions (8) and single-game interceptions (3). He made the All-SEC team in 1978-1980 and was LSU’s MVP in his final season with the team.
Unfortunately, Williams did not have the same success as a professional in the NFL. He played in Buffalo for three years. In three seasons, Williams played in 21 games and recorded five starts. The defensive back’s best season came in his third and final year in Buffalo. During that season, Williams recorded three interceptions and one forced fumble.
Williams won't be the only Bills player drafted at pick 49 after this season. Buffalo holds the 49th overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft.
