The Buffalo Bills are "really close" to getting a deal done with Leonard Hankerson according to GM Doug Whaley.

The Buffalo Bills are going to have quite a few players competing for wide receiver jobs.

The Buffalo Bills currently have quite a few wide receivers on their roster but the team is still looking to add more competition at the position. Doug Whaley was interviewed on The John Murphy Show on Monday night and the Bills GM revealed that Buffalo is close to bringing Leonard Hankerson back to the team. Around the 56:30 mark Whaley said, "I think we're really close to getting a deal with Leonard Hankerson done."

The GM talked about how all of the receivers will add competition to the position. Hankerson spent time at the end of the season with the Bills but he didn't record any stats with the team. If a deal gets done, Hankerson would be the tenth receiver on Buffalo's roster.

Currently, the Bills have the following players listed at wide receiver on their roster:

  • Sammy Watkins
  • Robert Woods
  • Greg Salas
  • Marquise Goodwin
  • Marcus Easley
  • Dezmin Lewis
  • Jarrett Boykin
  • Greg Little
  • Walter Powell

Whaley also stated earlier on Monday that Buffalo is interested in bringing Percy Harvin back into the fold. Harvin had chemistry early in the season with Tyrod Taylor and would almost be a lock to win one of the receiving spots on the team.
