Report: Sheldon Rankins to visit the Buffalo Bills

Rankins appears to be one of Buffalo's pre-draft visitors.

The Buffalo Bills will reportedly have Louisville Cardinals DT Sheldon Rankins make a pre-draft visit. Tony Pauline of was the first to report the news.

Rankins is far from a lock to fall to the Bills at pick 19 as he's considered to be the best defensive tackle in this year's draft class. In 2015, Rankins finished the 2015 season with 58 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and six sacks. For his career, Rankins recorded 133 total tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss, and 18 sacks.

Earlier in March, Todd McShay mocked Rankins to the Bills. Here is what the NFL draft analyst had to say about Rankins.

You have to think Rex Ryan would be pretty happy if Rankins fell to No. 19 overall. He’s not Sheldon Richardson, but the Louisville product would fill that type of role playing alongside Marcell Dareus in Ryan’s defense. Rankins has a unique combination of quickness and power for someone who weighs 299 pounds. One of the most underrated players in this class, Rankins brings a lot of scheme versatility to the table.

Every NFL team is allowed to have 30 pre-draft visitors.
