The 2016 NFL draft is 17 days away. Who have the Buffalo Bills drafted at pick 17?
Buffalo has drafted one player at pick 17. Here’s a look at the former Bills draft pick.
Jim Lindsey, RB, Arkansas (1966)
Lindsey was Buffalo’s only 17th overall draft pick, but he never suited up with the Bills. The running back went to the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings. Lindsey’s career lasted seven seasons in the league and he served as a captain with the team.
In his career, he rushed the ball 178 times for 566 yards (3.2 yards per carry) and six touchdowns. His receiving stats were slightly better. Lindsey caught 56 passes in his career for 632 yards (11.3 yards per catch) and four touchdowns. Lindsey’s most productive season came in his rookie year when he accounted for 396 total yards.
Before joining the NFL, Lindsey won a National Championship with the Razorbacks in 1964.
A documentary on Lindsey’s life was made and narrated by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in 2013. It talks about Lindsey’s career and his real estate empire. A trailer can be seen here.
