We're just days away from the 2016 NFL draft and it can't come soon enough. Reports are coming out left and right about Buffalo's interest in various quarterbacks. The latest report comes from Jason Cole of Bleacher Report. According to Cole, the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets are both 'extremely interested' in Memphis Tigers QB Paxton Lynch.
Although the Bills plan on drafting a quarterback at some point in the 2016 NFL draft, it'd be a bit of a surprise to see them draft Lynch in the first round. More realistically, Buffalo is probably sending out smokescreens in an attempt to get another team to trade up for a quarterback. Acquiring extra picks in a loaded defensive class would help the Bills and keeping Lynch away from the Jets, who pick right after the Bills, would also benefit Buffalo.
Lynch is just the latest quarterback that the Bills have supposed interest in. Just yesterday, Peter King reported that some people in the league are convinced that the Bills would consider Christian Hackenberg at pick 19.
The team was also enamored with second tier prospect Cardale Jones according to reports.
In just two days we'll find out if the Bills really are interested in Lynch. Until then, the rumor mill will continue to churn.null
