Buffalo Bills claim RB Dri Archer

Another speed option for the Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo Bills claimed Dri Archer off of waivers on Tuesday and pushed their roster to 90 players.

Archer's claim to fame is owning the NFL's second fastest 40-time (4.26 seconds). The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Dri Archer 97th overall in the 2014 NFL draft. In his career, Archer has carried the ball 10 times for 40 yards and has seven receptions for 23 yards.

In Buffalo, Archer faces long odds of seeing playing time on the offensive side of the ball. The team currently has LeSean McCoy, Karlos Williams, Mike Gillislee, Jonathan Williams, and James Wilder Jr. on their depth chart at running back. Although Archer probably will not see many snaps on offense, he has a chance to stick with the Bills as a returner. In Pittsburgh, Archer recorded 23 kick returns for 515 yards (22.4 yard average).

Time will tell whether or not Archer can stick on Buffalo's 53-man roster, but for the time being Buffalo has no shortage of speed on their team.
