Report: Buffalo Bills first round pick Shaq Lawson is expected to miss the first 4-5 games of the season.

Lawson's surgery was 'very successful.'

Buffalo Bills first round pick Shaquille Lawson underwent "very successful" shoulder surgery according to Shawn Stepner of WKBW-TV.

Stepner added that a source informed him that Lawson is only expected to miss 4-5 regular season games.

This fits with the time frame of Lawson being out of action for the next four to five months. According to Buffalo's 2016 schedule, Lawson could return for their Week 5 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams or Week 6 game with the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers game will be at Ralph Wilson Stadium so if Stepner's time frame is correct, Lawson will debut in front of Bills fans.

Stepner's reports about Lawson are certainly encouraging, but no one truly knows just how quickly the rookie will recover from shoulder surgery.
