The MMQB podcast broke down their top 15 NFL cornerbacks and both Buffalo Bills starting CBs made the list. Ronald Darby came in at No. 14 and his teammate, Stephon Gilmore, came in even higher at No. 6.
Gilmore received votes from Andy Benoit, Jeff Irwin, and Robert Mays. Among the trio, Irwin had Gilmore rated the lowest at No. 12. Benoit, meanwhile, had Gilmore at No. 8 and Mays had the Bills veteran CB at No. 6.
When discussing Gilmore, the hosts of the podcast described Gilmore as a long-armed CB who will "out physical" wide receivers. All three hosts said they'd love to see what Gilmore can do over a full season. Gilmore finished one spot behind Jets CB Darrelle Revis.
Last season, Gilmore recorded 36 tackles, all solo, in 12 starts. He tied a career-high in interceptions with three and set a new personal best in passes defensed at 18.
Gilmore is set to hit free agency at the end of the 2016 season. If he continues his strong play this year and stays healthy for the entire season, he'll have no shortage of suitors if Buffalo lets him walk.
