It's fitting that Buffalo's motto for the 2016 season is "all-in," because that describes the mindset of Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan and his brother Rob Ryan. No one knows if the Bills are going to thrive or fail in 2016, but regardless of the outcome the brothers are going to do everything their way in 2016. Doing things their way includes being brash 24/7 and calling out anyone and everyone.
In an interview with Jenny Vrentas, Rob Ryan made sure to call out New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. First, Rob made a point of stating he and his brother are going to beat Belichick together this season.
"Not only is Rex a great head coach, but he is also a great defensive coach," Rob said. "He’s going to be the best coach that I can work for, anytime. And I have worked for Belichick, who is the best head coach in football, in the history of the game.
"But we’re going to beat him, and we’re going to beat him together. And it’s going to be an awesome challenge."
Rob's initial comments aren't insulting by any means. He calls Belichick the greatest head coach in the history of the game, but notes that the Bills are going to take him down this year. Towards the end of their interview with Vrentas, Rex and Rob Ryan explain that working together is also for their dad. They acknowledge that Buddy Ryan is struggling health-wise and that they're "going for broke." Rob ends the interview by once again calling out Belichick because they've "got him."
VRENTAS: What does your dad think about the two of you coaching together?
ROB: He’s struggling (health-wise). That’s another reason…
REX: …we’re going for broke, man.
ROB: Because, who knows? He’s not going to be able to watch us coach for much longer, I don’t think. But hopefully he can see this one, because we have got big plans. Bring Belichick on. We got him.null
