Saints head coach Sean Payton responded to Rob Ryan's claims and said they were 'silly'

Rob Ryan felt that his last two seasons in New Orleans were a waste of time because he felt he wasn't able to run his defense. Ryan claimed that the Saints changed their defensive system to what was used by the Seattle Seahawks.

"Everyone wants to run Seattle’s defense," Ryan said. "They should have hired a Seattle coach. I did the best job I could. Under the circumstances, trust me, I did the best job I could. I’ll be better anywhere else. I’ll be great anywhere else. But it was unfortunate."

It didn't take long for Sean Payton to respond to Rob Ryan's claims. The Saints head coach joined PFT Live and called Ryan's claim "silly."

“The idea that it wasn’t his defense, or he wasn’t in charge of it, is silly,” Payton said.

The ball is back in Rob Ryan's court and there's no doubt that he'll respond to Payton in due time.
