Stephon Gilmore is coming off of one of his best seasons in the league. In just 12 games played, Gilmore set a new career-high in passes defensed with 18 and tied his career-high in interceptions with three. The former first round pick is just 25 years old and seems to be entering his prime. His strong play in 2015 has one NFL writer thinking that Gilmore is "primed" to make his first Pro Bowl in 2016.
Over at NFL.com, Gregg Rosenthal listed nine players who are poised to make their first Pro Bowl and the Buffalo Bills cornerback came in at No. 6 on his list. Here's what Rosenthal said about Gilmore:
Stephon Gilmore, Buffalo Bills cornerback: Ronald Darby, Gilmore's tag-team partner, is also a good candidate for his first Pro Bowl after finishing second in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting. Still, it seems wrong for Darby to make it before his veteran teammate who also plays a physical style.
If Gilmore builds off of his outstanding 2015 season and stays healthy over the course of the 2016 season, there's a good chance that Rosenthal's prediction comes true.null
