The Buffalo Bills have signed running back Dan 'Boom' Herron.
Herron knows Buffalo's playbook as he spent time with the Bills last year. In four games last year, Herron rushed the ball 11 times for 37 yards and added three receptions for 20 yards. The running back also spent time with the Colts last year and finished the 2015 season with 79 rushing yards on 25 carries.
Realistically, Herron doesn't have much of a chance to stick on Buffalo's roster. Buffalo's 53-man roster already features LeSean McCoy, Karlos Williams, Mike Gillislee, Jonathan Williams, and James Wilder Jr. Herron was most likely signed to be an extra body on Buffalo's roster. Yesterday, only Jonathan Williams was available at practice.
To make room for Herron, the Bills released cornerback Julian Whigham.
