Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins only expects to miss 2-3 training camp practices

Watkins spoke about his injury to TSN.

Buffalo Bills training camp will take place starting on July 30th and according to Sammy Watkins he'll be available for the majority of camp. The wide receiver appeared on TSN and stated that he sees himself only missing two or three camp practices.

“For training camp, I think I’ll definitely be available,” Watkins said. “I might sit out two or three days. It’s all about how I feel within those days. The goal is to come back and be prepared for training camp.”

Watkins had foot surgery in April and there was talk that the wide receiver would miss training camp entirely. That doesn't align with Watkins' comments. It appears he'll be participating at St. John Fisher College for camp and will be available to play in the preseason.

To make sure he's ready for camp, Watkins' plan is to stay in Buffalo during the summer.

“The important part is getting on the field and staying healthy. So, basically my whole summer will be staying in Buffalo getting better.”

There's no reason to rush Watkins back onto the field, but it's encouraging to hear the receiver state that he believes he'll be available for the majority of training camp.
