Early on Thursday morning, Buffalo Bills rookie running back Jonathan Williams was arrested and charged with a DWI. He'll appear in court on August 15, during Bills training camp, and if he's found guilty he'll be facing a two-game suspension.
Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com was asked about Williams' DWI and said the following on his Fan Friday blog:
"Williams’ DUI charges will now be handled in the courts," said Brown. "If he’s found guilty a first offense under the NFL’s revised policy (2014) for DUI will result in a two-game suspension. Based on informed NFL sources that suspension stands a good chance of being imposed at some point during the 2016 regular season."
Impact: Williams' DWI could prove to be costly to the rookie. In addition to possibly being suspended for two games, the Bills rookie may have to earn back the trust of the coaching staff. This could limit his offensive production in 2016 with Buffalo.
