Earlier today, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reported that the Buffalo Bills and Reggie Bush were still talking about a deal to bring the running back to the team. It appears that the signing is getting closer based upon a report by Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News.
The contract talks appear to be progressing and if Bush is signed soon, he may join the team at St. John Fisher College this week.
Bush, 31, is coming off of an ACL injury but the team views him as a reliable back in Karlos Williams' absence. The veteran back could compete for the primary backup job behind LeSean McCoy over the first four weeks of the season. His competition will include Mike Gillislee, Jonathan Williams, and Dan "Boom" Herron.
In addition to possibly spelling McCoy, Mike Florio reported that that the Bills may utilize Bush as a punt returner in 2016. Bush has 100 career punt returns for 781 yards and four touchdowns. His best season as a punt returner came in 2008 with the Saints. That season, Bush had 20 punt returns for 270 yards and three touchdowns.
