Jason Cole of Bleacher Report had reported that the Buffalo Bills had interest in signing free agent quarterback Nick Foles. However, Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News is hearing that Buffalo does not have any interest in signing Foles.
The Bills had all offseason to add a veteran option to their backup quarterback competition, but chose against doing so. Based upon Carucci's report, Buffalo is comfortable with the quarterback trio of Tyrod Taylor, EJ Manuel, and Cardale Jones.
As it stands, Manuel's contract is fully guaranteed in 2016 so cutting him to add another backup quarterback option would have used up additional cap space that the Bills could use towards an extension for Taylor. Jones' roster spot as the team's third string quarterback should be considered safe. Although he's viewed as a project QB, the Bills aren't likely to place Jones on their practice squad as another team could sign him away.
