OH NO! Cowart on Injured Reserve!

The Bills put Sam Cowart on injured reserve to free up a roster space. If the Bills don't re-sign Cowart in the off-season as an unrestricted free agent, fans' last memory of him in a Bills uniform will be when he was backpedaling and tore his Achilles' tendon against the Saints opening day with no one around him. Cowart is a great player and clearly the Bills are missing and will continue to miss him this year.

And with middle linebacker Brandon Spoon (dislocated elbow) out for Sunday's game, the Bills will probably start Kenyatta Wright in the middle. Gregg Williams and Jerry Gray tried to have Wright play only in passing situations vs. the Colts because they think Spoon plays the run a little better. Now Wright will be a full-timer.

Other injury notes: right tackle Jonas Jennings (strained hip flexor) is doubtful. John Fina (bruised quad) and Eric Moulds (shoulder sprain/bruised sternum) who aren't practicing today, are questionable, along with left end Bryce Fisher, who is practicing today. Back with the team is middle linebacker Jimmy Robinson, a rookie free agent who was cut in training camp. The Bills haven't said if he's on the active roster or taking the place of someone on the practice squad if someone from the practice squad gets activated to the active roster. Perhaps that someone will be tackle Jon Carman because Buffalo's two starting tackles are contending with injuries and there wouldn't be any true backup tackles. I bet Robinson is on the practice squad and Carman will be on the active roster.
