Bills to interview Mularkey Wednesday

The Bills have scheduled an interview with Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey on Wednesday. Mularkey and GM Tom Donahoe know each from their time together in Pittsburgh and despite the poor performance of the Steelers offense this season Mularkey remains a viable candidate. <P> The Bills met with Jim Fassel earlier today. There was no comment on how the meeting went, but our sources say that Fassel was asked to stay the night in Buffalo and continue talks tomorrow.

Fassel apparently declined to take Donahoe up on this offer and did leave Buffalo on Tuesday.

It appears that Fassel may have his choice between the Bills and the Redskins, as Washington GM Daniel Synder wants to bring Fassel in for another interview this week.

It is very likely that Snyder will make Fassel the richer offer if he decides to, but the Buffalo job just might be more appealing to him.

Another Bills coaching candidate, Tom Coughlin, was hired by the New York Giants today, accepting an offer before getting a chance to interview with the Bills.

As always, we will report more information as it becomes available.
