Bills release one re-sign another of their own

On the eve of free agency the Bills made two moves to their roster. TE Dave Moore let go and OL Marques Sullivan was brought back.

Dave Moore joined the Bills two seasons ago as a free agent signing from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Serving as a backup Dave was a very good second TE for the. He made his prescene felt in the red zone. As althgh he only caught seven balls last season two of them went for TDs. He could be replaced by Mark Breuner who he himself was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers as the free agent market is smaller now that Erron Kinney and Jimmy Kleinsasser have re-signed with their respective teams.

Marques Sullivan short career in Buffalo has been an up and down one to say the least. He was originally drafted in the 5th Round in the 2001 Draft. As a rookie he saw extensive playing time starting two games in 10 games played. The following year he started every game at right guard for the team. Though in 2003 he lost his started job to Mike Pucillo at the start of 2003 and it was even thought the Bills might cut him. Then at the end of the season he replaced an injured Jonas Jennings at left tackle and played well in his first game back but then struggled as the at times during the remaining four season. Then earlier this off season the Bills signed Bernard Robertson and Lawrence Smith and also re-signed Ross Tucker and it looked as Sullivan could be let go again. The Bills then cut longtime LG Ruben Brown yesterday, the team that was thin already at guard, became even thinner so Sullivan was re-signed before he could enter free agency as a restricted free agebt. Sullivan was likely brought back inpart because his experience as a starter might come into play if the team can't sign a free agent or elects not to use a high pick on an offensive lineman in April.
