Irish Eyes' on Tom Clements?

Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Tom Clements is supposedly one of many candidates being considered for the Notre Dame head coaching job.

Clements, a former Irish quarterback, led the school to a national championship in 1973.

Iowa's Kirk Ferentz, Louisville's Bobby Petrino and Boise State's Dan Hawkins and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, a Notre Dame grad, are among those being brought up who might also be in competition for the job.

The Bills didn't make Clements available to the media on Monday, but head coach Mike Mularkey said it's the first he's heard about the speculation regarding Clements.

"I think that came up before Tyrone Willingham was hired," he said. "It wouldn't surprise me being an ex-Domer."

Detriot Lions' head coach Steve Mariucci has already turned down a chance to coach the team as has Baltimore Ravens' QB coach Jim Fassel.
