OUTCRY! Riley legal matter sparks mass debate

So we've found out that Victor Riley was charged in Johnson County (Kan.) District Court last year with felony counts of aggravated assault and criminal damage to property, as well as misdemeanor counts of child endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident (Riley was arrested for ramming his vehicle into his wife's vehicle, which contained his infant daughter no less). Sick as it is, this kind of thing doesn't concern me - though I don't plan on hanging out with Riley anytime soon.

No matter how tipped the justice system seems to be in favor of celebrities, it's still the place where things such as this should be contended, not the NFL commissioner's office, where Riley reportedly drew a one-game suspension.

Riley paid his debt to society through the justice system. If celebrities regularly get their hands slapped, then it's up to prosecutors and judges not to let this happen. But given Riley has completed his sentence – which was minimal – then he should be allowed to pursue work. And Buffalo has a right tackle job for him.

What's the problem?

If fans don't like him as a person, they shouldn't root for him. They had little problem not rooting for Rob Johnson.

Anyway, given the outcry, I doubt Buffalo would sign him.
