Lary's draft tidbits

One of the fastest-rising prospects in this year's draft is Aaron Schobel's little brother: tight end Matt Schobel, who was Aaron's teammate at Texas Christian.

TCU changed its pro workout day from March 22 until today (April 3) so that Matt could visit the Dolphins that day. He's also one of 13 college prospects invited to visit the Cowboys April 12, eight days before the draft ...

The Bills' quarterbacking situation remains somewhat in limbo, awaiting what might happen with Drew Bledsoe or Jeff Blake. One possible Buffalo draft pick, Louisiana State's Rohan Davey, has dropped 20 pounds since the season, to 240. Tulane's Patrick Ramsey has been working out with former NFL QB and assistant coach Zeke Bratkowski, who prepared Michael Vick for last year's draft. Even though most pro teams project Nebraska's Eric Crouch as a defensive back, at the Cornhuskers' pro day he refused to work in drills at any position but QB. However, Steve Bellisari, a bust as Ohio State's quarterback, surprised scouts in defensive back drills at the Buckeyes' pro day.

Also in Columbus, center LeCharles Bentley, who didn't lift at the combine, had this off-season's highest number of reps while bench-pressing 225 pounds: 38. In contrast, Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth had just 17 reps, the same as his wide receiver teammate Donte Stallworth.
