Reed is gonna be awesome, plus camp notes

Josh Reed is going to be a spectacular player. And that's not just your typical rookie hype. Today against the Browns in red zone drills Reed caught at least three touchdown passes. There wasn't a ball he missed.

On one underthrown ball from Alex Van Pelt, Reed adjusted to the ball in the right side of the end zone and was able to make the grab with Cleveland's Emmanuel McDaniel failing to keep up with Reed's quick pivot back. This kid may not be the fastest in the world, but he can stop on a dime and he's got excellent hands. My, oh my, they're excellent …

The Bills were dropping like flies today, and it wasn't because of the heat. Right guard Ruben Brown sprained his knee this morning and won't see any action vs. Cleveland tomorrow. Middle linebacker Brandon Spoon suffered a ruptured biceps tendon this morning and will have to have surgery Monday. He may be out for the season.

Right tackle Mike Williams left the afternoon practice because he did something to his thumb. Left end Kendrick office collided with Cleveland linebacker Marquis Smith during a kickoff return this afternoon and had to leave the field with a head bump. Defensive tackle Tyrone Robertson didn't practice this afternoon due to a mild shoulder sprain. And rookie wideout Andre Rone had his shoulder iced and didn't complete practice.

Other than that, there were no injuries …

With Office out, Bryce Fisher was playing first-team left end. Starting right end Aaron Schobel took Flowers' snaps on the second team … It appears Ron Edwards supplanted Leif Larsen as second-team under tackle, because Edwards was playing in the first unit for the injured Tyrone Robertson … With Ruben Brown out, Michael Early was playing first-team left guard. Behind him was rookie Mike Pucillo and Corey Hulsey, meaning Marques Sullivan is even more entrenched at right guard, because he wasn't even included in that mix …

Kris Farris got in a scrap with a reserve right end from the Browns. It wouldn't be surprising if it was started because Farris was holding. He holds on nearly every pass play …

Peerless Price caught a couple touchdowns in red zone drills, including one on a corner timing pattern, beating corner Daylon McCutcheon … Drew Bledsoe found Charlie Rogers on a seam route between two defenders for a touchdown … Bledsoe has a lot of velocity on the ball. On one throw, he launched it so hard, it bounced off rookie Andre Rone's hands with a giant "Whap." … Bryce Fisher had a good upfield push during the two-minute drill and sacked Tim Couch …

Corey Fuller intercepted Bledsoe deep as he was going for Josh Reed … Keith Newman had a pass breakup on a pass to Browns receiver Quincy Morgan … Free safety Pierson Prioleau has to work on catching the ball, as he dropped a sure interception that bounced off his hands like a super ball on pavement … The two-minute drill rush by the Bills was pretty good with linebacker Eddie Robinson sacking Tim Couch as time ran out … Browns wide receiver Andre King beat rookie corner Ahmad Brooks on a corner pattern to defeat the Bills third-string defensive unit in the two-minute drill … Bills reserve middle linebacker Muadianvita Kazadi is as vocal and fiery as London Fletcher. Kazadi, playing with the reserves, was barking orders to his unit in the huddle and demanding plays to be made.
