Drew loves Miami

And if the Dolphins ask, "Drew, is that you?" it's understandable. It's the first time they have seen quarterback DREW BLEDSOE in a Bills uniform after facing him for 10 years (1992-01) as a Patriot. In 16 games against Miami, Bledsoe threw for his most yards against any team – 4,208 – and posted three games of three-or-more touchdowns against them, tying his total against Buffalo for most against any opponent.

In Miami this week, it will be an AFC East matchup between the two highest-scoring teams in the conference, with one having lost the quarterback that has efficiently directed its attack all season.

It's the first-place Dolphins (5-1, 180 points) hosting the tied-for-second-with-New England Buffalo Bills (3-3, 194 points).

For the Dolphins, they will be going without the quarterback who led them to a 26-11 record since he became their starter in 2000, JAY FIEDLER.  He will be out four weeks with a broken thumb on his passing hand, and will be replaced by five-year veteran RAY LUCAS -- who is used to emergency duty.  With the New York Jets in 1999, Lucas compiled a 6-3 record after stepping in for an injured VINNY TESTAVERDE

"We have confidence in Ray," says Dolphins head coach DAVE WANNSTEDT.  "We're not going to change anything.  The system is in and we'll just continue what we've been doing."

Thirty years ago this year, the Dolphins lost starting quarterback BOB GRIESE to an injury in their fifth game.  EARL MORRALL took over and led them to 11 victories on the way to their 17-0 "Perfect Season," the only unbeaten, untied team in NFL history.
