Off the Field: John Wendling

Bills safety talks about hunting, who'd play him in a movie and what he'd do as president...

What's the vibe like in the weight room this offseason?

Everybody has a bad taste in their mouth from last year. We have a little chip on our shoulder to get it going for next year and get into postseason play. There's a different attitude and a different energy in how guys are working.

What has Terrell Owens been like so far?

As a defensive player, I haven't been around him much but I met him and he seems like a really nice guy. It seems like he's really here to get some work done and get some wins under our belt.

What's the biggest different between Wyoming and Buffalo?

The trees. Wyoming is wide open with mountains here and there, but you get to Buffalo and there's a lot of trees. It's not quite as wide open and you don't see any mountains really.

People say you look like…

Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Who would play you in a movie?

My wife would probably want me to say Brad Pitt.

Favorite TV Show?

Probably House.

Favorite Movie?

Braveheart.

What are some of your hobbies outside of football?

I'm a big outdoors guy so fishing, hunting, camping and that sort of stuff. The last time I was hunting I got a four-point buck. That was in high school, though. I haven't been able to go hunting since. I got into college and it was all sports. I've heard there's some great hunting and fishing around Buffalo but I haven't been able to get out yet.

If you were president for one day, what would you do?

My father-in-law is a farmer, so I'd really like to do things to help the little guy out. The farmers have it so hard as far as getting assistance and stuff like that. I'd do something to help the farmer out.

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite meal would be steak and potatoes.

If you weren't a football player, what would you be doing?

I'd be in business somewhere and hopefully in a management position or something like that.

Who is your favorite pro sports team outside of the NFL?

Probably the Minnesota Twins. I haven't followed them as well as I should but growing up, through my whole childhood, I loved the Twins. My Dad was from Minnesota, so I kind of just took after him.
