Spikes likes Williams and the Bills

Weakside linebacker Takeo Spikes visited with the Bills today. Here's what he said: "I like everything. I like the way Coach Williams orchestrates his whole schedule as far as taking care of the players, leaving it up to the veteran players to demand more of the younger players on the team. I like that."

Spikes said while on his visit today he talked to Eric Moulds, Pat Williams and childhood friend Jonas Jennings, whom he grew up with in Georgia. He and Jennings talk regularly.

It's clear Spikes wants to leave Cincinnati, but being the team's transition player, he's aware that the Bengals can retain him by matching any team's offer. That's something he hopes doesn't happen; and something he's trying to ignore at the moment – while he's on tour.

"Right now, I just take it one step at a time," Spikes said. "I don't even worry about that. It's in the back of my mind, I think, just a little, but I'm focused right now with my agent. He's working out everything right now. But I figure ‘til he contacts me and tells me otherwise, then I'll worry about that."

He later added, "Change is good. Change is good for everybody. From my point right now, change is more than welcomed."

Spikes said the Bills didn't make create an offer sheet yet, but he expects something soon.

"We're just waiting to see what happens," Spikes said.
