McCaffrey out two to three months

Wide receiver Ed McCaffrey underwent groin surgery to remedy athletic pubalgia, or "sports hernia," the Broncos announced on Tuesday. He will return to full workouts following a recovery process that will cover two to three months. Read about it in today's story links.

Wednesday, April 02, 2003 - Ed McCaffrey has been knocked flat - again. Ed McCaffreyAs usual, the popular wide receiver plans to get back on his feet and catch passes for the Denver Broncos. The team announced Tuesday that McCaffrey underwent surgery March 18 to correct a chronic groin injury. McCaffrey, who had been working out intensely, will be sidelined two to three months. But McCaffrey, who turns 35 on Aug. 17, said he expects to be ready when training camp opens in late July.
