Friday, June 20, 2003 - Lawyers for Pat Bowlen, the owner of the Denver Broncos, and the man from whom he bought the team, Edgar Kaiser, appeared in U.S. District Court on Thursday to argue over the parameters of a lawsuit Kaiser filed against Bowlen in 1999 that is heading for trial. At issue is the contract that the two signed in 1984, when Bowlen bought the team from Kaiser for $65 million. It included a clause guaranteeing Kaiser the right of first refusal, should Bowlen ever try to sell part or all of the football team.
McBriar Hopes to Blaze Trail for Australians to NFL - DenverBroncos.com - Andrew Mason
June 19, 2003 By Andrew Mason - Perhaps Mat McBriar was destined to be a Bronco all along. In 1997, McBriar was an 18-year-old whose primary sporting experience came via the game of football -- Australian-style. The sport of organized chaos, punting while on the fly and the man in a white suit and fedora who signals when the ball has sailed through the narrow set of goal posts at each end of a gargantuan oval field.

At 215 pounds, he shares the title of heaviest Broncos receiver with Ed McCaffrey. However, Madise, at 5-foot-11, is six inches shorter than McCaffrey.
