McBriar Hopes to Blaze Trail for Australians to NFL - - Andrew Mason
June 19, 2003 By Andrew Mason - Perhaps Mat McBriar was destined to be a Bronco all along. In 1997, McBriar was an 18-year-old whose primary sporting experience came via the game of football -- Australian-style. Thursday, June 19, 2003 - A confession that might be as hard to believe as it is to stomach: Unlike every other member of the Colorado media, I am going to miss former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese. Madise Becomes First '03 Pick to Sign - - Andrew Mason
June 17, 2003 - One down, nine to go. Tuesday, the Broncos began the process of signing their 10 draft picks, signing fifth-round selection Adrian Madise. Madise began drawing raves from observers within a half-hour of taking the field at the team's mini-camp in May, earning notice for his sharp cuts, precise routes, ability to catch passes across the middle and his stout, powerful build. At 215 pounds, he shares the title of heaviest Broncos receiver with Ed McCaffrey. However, Madise, at 5-foot-11, is six inches shorter than McCaffrey.
