Julius Thomas, AFC Offensive Player of Week
Broncos TE Julius Thomas has been named the AFC Offensive Player of Week 1 for his performance against the Colts. Thomas notched 7 receptions for 104 yards (14.9 average) and 3 TDs, all three of which came in the first half as Denver jumped out to a 24-7 halftime lead over Indianapolis. On a night when other receivers like Demaryius Thomas and Andre Caldwell struggled, Julius played very well. This is the third time Thomas has put up either 100 yards or multiple scores in a game - both previous times (against Baltimore and Dallas last season) coincided. This is the first time he has scored 3 TDs in a game. Thomas is playing in a contract year, and he certainly made a statement in his first game for the Broncos. Last season, he caught 65 balls for 788 yards and 12 TDs for Denver. He is poised to make a large impact for the Broncos offense moving forward.
